Peter Almeida: Singer/songwriter, performer and multi-instrumentalist
MISsING MAsS Music is a hybrid of reggae, British Invasion, punk and classic psychedelic rock. Laden with poetic imagery, allusive abstractions and word play, the music strives to be both timeless and timely. Deeply personal, reflective and peppered with a hint of irreverence, these compositions are invitations to explore the psyche, follow narratives of archetypes, and experience sonic experiments.

During the winter of 2025 Peter returned to his passion for painting and making images. Though he continued image-making for personal reflection throughout the years of primarily making music, painting was not a focus. On visiting the Harvard Museums of Art in 2024, he got his calling when encountering a gallery of German Expressionist painters who were responding to Nazi and fascist rule of their nation. He feels that artists must work as primary sources in history, and knowing the the United States was at a very dangerous tipping point gave him the nudge needed to dive back into painting. Progress is found under the tab for Paintings and Images.

Balancing different forms of expression is a normal part of his process. In his role as singer/songwriter, he thinks visually. Conversely, when painting, he composes and thinks musically. For Peter, it's not the material that drives creation, but the mind's ability to play.
